CHRIS
CG: Why did you change your
hair?
Chris: I rearrange my furniture in my house every other day. I can't stand symmetry. I had my braids for two and a half years and that to me was way too long. It was tough upkeep. When I got them done I had to sit for eight hours. Usually, I'd fall asleep while they were doing it.
CG: When your down, what's your secret weapon-the one thing you can fall back on when all else fails?
Chris: Listening to music. If I hear a song and I love it, that feeling is amazing. That Destiny's Child song "Bugaboo"? I love that song. Everything about it is just dope. I used to listen to the Indigo Girls all the time-that's how I developed my voice.
CG: Which celeb would you most like to date?
Chris: Gwen Stefani. I've always liked her,
ever since No Doubt first came out. She's so spunky and Beautiful and she's the
lead singer and Ahhhh! I love her style. I love Audrey Hepburn. Does that count?
She had this class. Nobody compares to her.
JOEY
CG: What's the number one
thing the other guys tease you about?
Joey: They just bust my cops about everything. They say I'm a big ham on stage--that I smile a lot and tell the crowd things like, "Hey, we're gonna have fun." Some things that might sound good on stage in front of an audience sound cheesy when you really think about it.
CG: What do you value most about yourself?
Joey: I am very Optimistic. If something's not so good, I can change it, make it better. Sometimes, when the guys are upset or down, I act silly to make them laugh.
CG: Can you remember the first time you went against something your parents told you not to do?
Joey: Yeah, when you do it, you're jinxed.
They tell you, "Don't do that," and then you do it and something happens. One
time my friend and I were screwing around making "Dirt Bombs"-we put a board
across a pipe, put a clump of dirt on one end, and then stomped on the other end
and shot the dirt across the street. My Mom saw us and was like, "Stop doing
that. You're going to get hurt!" And I was like, "Yeah Whatever." And the minute
she walked away, I went to stomp on it, and the dirt shot right up into my face,
and it hit me so hard...dirt was like in my gums. It was in my eyes, in my nose.
It was awful. I was like, "MOM!"
JC
CG: So, what about girls? If a
parade of girls walked through here, could you pick which one you'd date?
Jc: No, I'd have to talk to them way before I even consider dating them. I never go out and say, "I'm gonna find a chick and hook up." That's a guaranteed Disaster.
CG: What's your Happiest childhood Memory?
Jc: Getting onto the Mickey Mouse Club when I was 13. The phone rang at like ten o'clock at night and my whole family was getting ready for bed, so I ran downstairs in my underwear to answer it. I hear, "You got the gig, man! We need you here in Florida in a month." I went, Ahhhhh!" threw the phone, and ran down the street in my underwear!
CG: No Way!
Jc: It was February, there was snow on the
ground, and I ran all the way to my best friend Casey's house in a T-shirt, my
underwear, and bare feet. I knocked on the door and woke him up: "Dude! I'm
gonna be on TV!"
JUSTIN
CG: Do the other guys ever
baby you or tell you what to do because you're the youngest?
Justin: No, It's not like, "You're young, so we're going to give you advice." If I have something I want to talk about and I need another mind to help me feel it out, then I'll go to one of them and ask them about it. They'll just help me out and listen to me. I'd probably go to all of them to see what they say. Then I usually just end up doing what I wanted to do.
CG: When you were a kid, everyone teased you about you hair, can you talk about that?
Justin: I hated my hair. People used to call me Brillo Pad. It got to the point where I would either try to straighten the crap out of it or cut it all off. I couldn't deal. When I was in second grade I was like, "I can't stand this...." I took like paper scissors and just cut my hair, all uneven. That's the only time I ever got a spanking.
CG: What was the feeling that made you do it?
Justin: I just wanted to be like everybody
else. My hair, at least. You know, kids make fun of anything that's different.
You wear a different shirt to school, and you're going to get picked on. You had
to look the look and walk the walk. Now I get so many compliments on my hair
because it is so different.
LANCE
CG: What's the biggest goof
you've ever made on stage?
Lance: Two years ago, I was in Germany performing an Awards show in a huge venue of about 200,000 fans. They lined us up offstage for the finale, and I was the first one in line. And I had on this very standout-ish white patent-leather outfit. Well, I thought I heard the cue, so I ran out on stage--right in the middle of someone else's performance. It's was horrible. I totally stood out. I tried to act like I knew what I was doing, jumping up and down like, "YEAH!"
CG: What does a date with Lance consist of?
Lance: You need to go somewhere you can talk-the movies is a terrible place. It's best to go somewhere that's not loud so you can get to know each other. I like it to consist of something like Scuba Diving, rock climbing, horseback riding, going to the beach. At the end of the date you can talk about it-it's a good icebreaking conversation.
CG: Tell us something that your parents don't even know about you.
Lance: My parents thought I was the best person. I mean, I'm good but I'm not perfect. I like partying and we live so close to New Orleans, If my parents ever found out I went to New Orleans at Mardi Gras-Woo!
